Charleston Area Senior Citizens maintains a Senior Center in downtown Charleston just a few blocks up from the City Market. Renovated to restore the look and feel of the Charleston Historic District, the Center is a hub for senior activities, programs and meetings.
The building is handicap accessible with a large lobby and snack bar area, a dining room that seats eighty and a large meeting room with media equipment and electronic Bingo on a wall-size projection. The commercial kitchen is used for the packaging and preparation of the extensive Meals on Wheels of Charleston program.
Adjacent to the Senior Center is Ansonborough House, a subsidized mid-rise apartment building for seniors, operated by CASC.
